Bishop Dr. Anthony Wright Sr., Ph. D
Bishop Dr. Anthony Wright, Sr., is a native of Washington, D.C., and the proud leader of By the Spirit Ministries Christian Church (BTSMCC) in District Heights, MD, happily wedded to Lady Elect Shirley Wright. They have three children, Danielle, Anthony Jr., and Aaron, four grandchildren, and one son-in-law, Alamar Johnson.

As the leader of BTSMCC, Bishop Dr. Wright has been instrumental in its growth and prosperity over the past 22 years. His spirit led preaching and teaching have distinguished the church as one of God's dynamic congregations in District Heights, MD, a testament to his vision and dedication.
Dr. Wright was consecrated BISHOP by the authority of God and Faith Deliverance Breakthrough Ministries Worldwide (FDBMW) in October 2017 by our Apostle Dr. Anthony T. Mays PHD, the Presiding Prelate. He currently serves as the jurisdictional leader of District 10, FDBMW. He is the host resident of Giants for Christ Training every second Saturday of the month.
Dr. Wright's academic journey is a shining example of his dedication and unwavering commitment. He has been an honor graduate of the former Breakthrough Bible College (BBC) in Temple Hills, Maryland, since June 2008. His academic pursuits also took him to The Atlanta Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Washington Saturday College at the historic Howard University in Washington, D.C., where the Apostle Dr. Anthony T. Mays was the provost. Dr. Wright's thirst for knowledge led him to attend night school at the Washington Bible Seminary in Lanham, MD.
Dr. Wright's commitment to education and community development is evident in his efforts to set up new educational sites for BBC around cities on the East Coast, including Trinidad and Tobago. His dedication to these initiatives underscores his broader impact beyond the church.

​First Lady Shirley Ann Wright
With unwavering devotion and inspiring leadership, First Lady Shirley Ann Wright faithfully serves at By the Spirit Ministries Christian Church in District Heights, Maryland. She works alongside her husband, Bishop Anthony Wright, Sr., uplifting and guiding the congregation with grace, dedication, and a servant’s heart.
Lady Wright oversees many of the church’s administrative responsibilities, providing vital support to both the congregation and the Senior Pastor. She manages daily operations, coordinates and organizes church events and programs, prepares weekly announcements, maintains the church calendar, and handles official correspondence. Known for her warm spirit and steadfast faith, she has devoted her life to fostering compassion, service, and spiritual growth within the church and community.

She understands the serious challenges, sacrifices, and commitment required to serve in ministry. Yet through every season she stands firm in the truth that God is always good.Lady Wright is a proud graduate of Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. Following graduation, she dedicated over 25 years to serving others as an advocate for families, a mentor to young women, and an organizer of community outreach programs.
In addition to her ministry service, Shirley is a devoted mother of three young adults. She values moments of rest and reflection and continually encourages her family and friends to grow deeper in their faith and relationship with Christ.Lady Wright was born on the Maryland Eastern Shore in Kent County (Chestertown, Maryland) and is a retired Federal Government employee.

Her guiding belief is simple yet powerful:

Her favorite scripture is Matthew 11:30:
"For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

This verse serves as a constant source of comfort and strength, guiding her daily walk in faith and service.
